What this is

Kitchen Atlas is a cookbook: 189 recipes in eight languages, sold as apps for iPhone, iPad and Android and as a Kindle edition. This website shows a sample and tells you where to get the rest.

Using the recipes

Cook from them, cook for friends, cook for money. Recipes themselves are not protected by copyright, and we have no interest in policing your kitchen.

What we do ask: do not republish the book. The written text, the photographs and the apps are our work, and copying them wholesale — into another book, another app, or a website — is not on. Quoting a recipe with credit and a link is fine.

Cooking is your responsibility

We have written the recipes as carefully as we can, but we cannot know your kitchen, your ingredients or your health.

Check the ingredients yourself if it matters. This applies especially to allergies. A recipe naming no nuts may still be made with a product that contains them, and packaged goods vary by country and change without notice.

The diet labels are calculated, not verified. The vegetarian and vegan badges come from matching the ingredient list against a list of terms — no person checks each recipe. Stocks, sauces, sweets and prepared products are exactly where that goes wrong. Treat the labels as a filter for browsing, not as an assurance.

The nutrient list is indicative. It names nutrients the listed ingredients are likely to provide. There are no laboratory figures behind it and no quantities. It is not nutritional advice, and it is not medical advice.

Handle raw meat, fish, eggs and hot fat with the care they deserve. Cooking times and temperatures depend on your equipment.

Some recipes link to Amazon to help you find an ingredient. Those links carry our Amazon Associates tag, and we may earn a commission on what you buy. The price you pay is unaffected. We link to Amazon because it is convenient, not because we have checked or endorse any particular seller or product.

The apps and this site

We do our best to keep everything working, but we do not promise the site or the apps will always be available or free of faults. They are provided as they are. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer under the law of your own country.
