History & Origin
Tiramisu is a comparatively recent Italian dessert, generally linked to Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the later twentieth century. Its name means “pick me up,” an apt description of layers of coffee-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone cream and cocoa.
