History & Origin
Lumpia arrived in the Philippines through Chinese-Filipino communities and developed both fresh and fried forms. Lumpiang shanghai, the small crisp meat-filled roll used here, is a party and celebration favourite served with sweet chilli or banana-ketchup sauce.
